Wi-Pics Mobile is an advanced solution designed to allow the crime scene photographer to Data Associate (at point of capture) and transmit their image files wirelessly to a remote system, command centre, printer, etc. via UNC or FTP protocols.

Data Association is the ability to embed data from a barcode or mag-strip reader into the User Comments and/or Image Description sections of the EXIF Header of the JPEG file, while retaining the RAW images on the device. In addition, there are three User Defined Fields that can be populated with any type of information the photographer requires to track or locate their images, such as officer's name, case number, date, location, etc. The information entered into the User Defined Fields is also stored in the EXIF Header. Image files can then be renamed using the barcode or mag-strip data and/or the information contained in the User Defined Fields (in any order the user chooses), prior to being transmitted wirelessly.
