This 3” wide by 180' long tape is routinely used for collection of trace evidence such as hair, fiber, glass shards, etc. The collection procedure is similar to that of lifting a dusted latent print, however the adhesive is soluble in water. To remove the trace evidence from the tape, simply soak the tape in water or methanol, then run the solution through a filter to collect the evidence for microscopic analysis.
