Self saturating foam tipped swab ideal for collecting trace DNA, particularly shed skin cells, from surfaces. The foam heads are attached to a 3” hollow polypropylene handle filled with 91% isopropanol. When the handle is squeezed, a seal inside the foam head is broken which allows the isopropanol to flow into the foam. Studies from the Biology Evidence Recovery Section at the Forensic Science SA lab located in Adelaide, South Australia, found these to provide much better yields than traditional cotton or polyester tipped swabs.
