Our new CSI-BIO-SWAB and CSI-BIO-SWABKIT were designed to ensure the most efficient biological fluid sample collection, while at the same time having a swab with a high DNA recovery/extraction efficiency. The kit components were selected to ensure that they are free of DNA contaminants.

*Our swab was compared to many other swabs on the market, by the biology section of the Laboratoire de sciences judiciaries et de médecine légale in Montreal. They have selected it as the swab of choice, providing both high sample collection efficiency, and high DNA recovery/extraction.

*The cotton tip is the right size to accommodate current sample extraction volumes. This means that the entire tip can be used, without the need for it to be cut into pieces, which reduces cost, and improves overall DNA collection.

*The plastic shaft is better suited to automated cutting systems in the forensic lab, unlike wooden shaft swabs which can produce splinters which hinder the process.

*Our swabs are sterile, and produced and packaged in an automated environment, where there is little employee intervention, and where all employees MUST wear protective apparel to prevent any of their DNA from transferring to the swabs.

CSI-Bio-SwabKit, biological fluid sample collection kit. Each kit includes one of our CSI-Bio-Swab applicators, one Swab-Shield to prevent the loss of sample due to contract transference AND allows sufficient air flow for the swab to dry, one 3mil plastic ampoule of sterile water, and one of our tamper-evident, breathable evidence bags for simple integrity, storage and transport. All of the contents are sealed inside a polybag, with a tamper evident serialized seal. 10 kits per pack.
