How It Works:
*Place the metal earth plate within 2” of the dust print.
*Place a sheet of lifting film with the black side down over the dust print.
*Place the TWO electrodes at the bottom of the PathFinder over the metal earth plate and the single electrode over the lifting film (one inch minimum gap between the plate and film).
*Switch ON the PathFinder (Green power light and red voltage lights illuminate).
*Increase the voltage to the PathFinder by turning the control knob clockwise. The lifting film will start to adhere to the surface. If arching or sparks are seen, reduce the power. Remove any trapped air using an insulated roller.
*Remove the PathFinder from the surface and turn the unit off. *Caution: high voltage is still present for approximately 20 seconds after the unit is turned off.
*Remove the lifting film and place it black side up on a flat surface. *Photograph the evidence. If you wish to save the film, carefully place the film in a protective box and tape it in place.
