Our mortuary customers are currently enjoying excellent results using their BioSeal System to address common problems associated with:
*Air transport of human remains
*Cross country & transcontinental shipping
*Repatriation delays
*Body removal services
*Disinternment transition & shipping
*Odor containment during first call/transport
*Storage for the purpose of odor control & fluid containment
*Containment/storage of non-embalmed remains
All of the configuration options may be suited for this application, including the Mini BioSeal System.
This one is very economical, providing the bare essentials needed to seal human remains, i.e., the thermosealer and BioSeal material.
BioSeal meets the airlines requirements for human remains to be totally contained in an airtight container, but at a cost on only 20% or less of currently used metal containers. It also provides environmentally sound alternatives to the polyvinylchloride body bags currently in use. Certain religious and ethnic groups with beliefs that do not allow embalming of human remains can be served using the BioSeal System, as it will contain odors in mausoleum facilities chosen for their final disposition, and generates less than 1% residue from incineration. The Mini BioSeal System includes the thermosealer and one 36” x 100' roll of BioSeal material.
1. Cut only the length of material needed
2. Align the edges of the top and bottom layers of the BioSeal System
3. Make your first seal along one short end
4. Make your second seal along the open length of the containment package
5. Make the final seal along the last open short length
6. Complete the shipping preparation as required
7. After preparations are complete the decedent is ready for shipping
Coroners will appreciate receiving human remains in an airtight and liquid tight containment to preserve all remains and potential evidence. The Portable BioSeal System is ideal for body retrieval.
Want an even more complete system? The new BioSeal AeroPak utilizes a combination of reinforced cardboard containers and a BioSeal System body pouch that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Air Transport Associatin and the International Air Transport Association. BioSeal is the solution available to guarantee the safety of the ground crews, flight crews and those receiving the human remains at the point of destination. When the decedent is heat sealed in BioSeal, the result is absolute containment of all fluids, gases, odors and vapors associated with the transport and storage
of human remains, with no possibility of infectious/hazardous/
noxious fluids, gases or odors escaping into the atmosphere of the airplane cargo compartment.
