Our Flare Forensic Nursing Kit provides all that a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner needs for detecting biological fluids, bruising and other evidence in sexual assault examinations.

Our forensic light uses the most powerful LEDs (semi-conductor light emitting diodes) available today. The LED is able to produce a collimated beam with typical 1400 mWatts of optical power, and the sophisticated optics incorporate a filter to remove the bandpass tail of the output. Collimating optics results in a crisp output spot with even intensity for best evidence contrast. This is important to reduce non-specific background fluorescence.

Each kit incorporates a common rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery which gives 2 to 3 hours of strong continuous use at full power (The light still puts out light after 4 hours continuous use). The sleek bench top battery charger is microprocessor controlled to ensure efficient and safe charging of the batteries, preventing overcharge. When not in use, simply leave the Flare on the charger.

Our Forensic Nursing Kit has been specifically designed to include all you need for the detection of biological fluids, including semen, urine, saliva and sweat, as well as trace fibers and potentially other trace evidence such as bruising before they are visible to the naked eye. Each kit includes the following:

*470 nm Flare - ideal wavelength for detecting biological fluids, particularly on skin.

*“Smart” Recharging station. Quickly charge the Flare, or leave it charging on the station until needed.

*One pair of our orange plastic framed goggles for the patient/client during the examination and two pair of our orange nylon fit-over goggles for the examiners.

*One camera filter or one orange viewing plate - needed to photograph what your eyes can see.

*100 disposable plastic sleeves - protects the Flare from contamination during each examination.
